The problem with delivering these advanced features at
incredible speed is that Google Flights’ accuracy

fares that are snapped up in a matter of minutes, Google
Flights tends to show them as still available long after
they’ve sold out. When you try to book one, you’ll get a
frustrating error message.

In situations like these, it’s worth performing your
airfare search on the ITA Matrix. This Google-owned

available fares on a given route that have seats open for
booking. It’s much slower than Google Flights, and you
can’t use it to actually book tickets, but its accuracy
tends to make up for these shortcomings.

on ITA Matrix or Google Flights, it’s best to use a major
online travel agency (OTA) such as Priceline or
Orbitz to book it. Yes, this means performing your
search one more time, but you can then take advantage
of the OTA’s cancellation policies, which are often—
though not always—more lenient than the policies that
apply when you book your ticket directly with an airline.
