YouTube videos organized by subject. I tested both apps together because they
both work through the Quest’s Oculus TV interface. Each app puts you in the
Oculus TV theater, letting you browse and watch videos on a large screen in

through a few viral videos on Neverthink. In both cases, the videos were sharp
and smooth, and the perspective was like that of a big-screen TV.

The room-scale Guardian boundaries were uncomfortable when using these
apps because I wanted to sit on my couch, which was behind the virtual wall.
Fortunately, the pop-up system menu let me switch between room-scale and
stationary Guardian; selecting the latter set up a smaller circular wall around
wherever I was sitting and gave me enough space to watch videos without
needing to completely remap the boundaries,

WIRELESS FREEDOM

processors are larger and more powerful than the ones found in standalone VR
headsets, but they all require bulky cables connecting your headset to those
processors (unless you use the HTC Vive Wireless Adapter, which requires a
non-laptop PC with a free PCIe card slot).

have to deal with a cable on my shoulder or back and mentally track its position
so I don’t get tangled in it and trip. The Oculus Quest is completely wire-free,
and that’s incredibly liberating in VR.
