Pro for the first time, falling in line with the
iPhone and iPad Pro. Of course, these rumors
are unconfirmed, but if Apple was to release a
16-inch MacBook Pro with an all-screen design,
it would likely signal the start of the next
generation of MacBooks.

As we’re seeing with the iPhone, Apple’s
roadmap for products is much longer than it
used to be, and as such, rumors and new features
are unveiled long before they’re supposed to.
Case and point: we already know a great deal
about the 2020 and 2021 iPhones, including
full-screen touch ID and the introduction of
a new iPhone 8-style budget smartphone,
so the same might be true in the case of the
MacBook Pro. OLED displays are more expensive,
so Apple may choose to further position the Pro
as the new high-end in MacBooks, as we have
seen with the iPhone XS and XR, appealing to
both price-conscious and affluent consumers.
Indeed, many have argued that the current
MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro range
have little distinguishable features and are priced
too similarly. Pushing the Pro toward a premium
price point with additional features could help to
balance the MacBook range.

Whether you’re ready to splash out on a new
eight-core MacBook Pro or you’re happy with
your six-year-old iMac, there’s no denying that
it’s an exciting time to be a Mac user. Apple will
announce major changes to macOS at WWDC
such as cross-platform app compatibility,
the sunsetting of iTunes, and the ability to
use your iPad as a second display. With so much
new hardware to sit alongside the world’s best
desktop operating system, the future of Mac
computing has never looked better...
