Love is one of the

mostpopular topics

for designs in cross

stitching – all those

romantic couples

and hearts, weddings and cupids.

Frankly speaking, I’m not a huge fan of

these categories, but sometimes I really

look for some of them because of the...

superstitions!

They say, a couple of wolves will

bring true love in your life; if you want to

get married – stitch a unicorn. And if

you like to stitch flowers, remember –

peonies are the symbols of love and

even passion. Of course, you may say

that it’s nothing more than just words.

I can agree, but,you know, it works...

Maybe, because we believe in it?

Asfor me, I often look for something

meaningful. Honestly, it’s like a kind of

magic, but – my husband proposed

Love is in the air...

February is upon

us and Valentine’s

Day is just around

the corner! Let me share with you some

of my work, which has been inspired by

our theme of the month.

Ever since I have embarked on this

journey to create customised pieces,

most of my orders to date are for – yes,

you guessed it – weddings!

In fact, my first ever customised

piece produced was for a friend’s

wedding. I had just re-discovered my

passion for cross stitch when I was

informedof their wedding ceremony

that weekend. I wanted to make a

unique and meaningful giftfor the

happy couple, so I resorted to stitching

a customised portrait of them. Still

today, they tell me from time to time

how much they love my gift. I am sure

you all understand how it feels.

Each time I receive such an order,

I do my best to make it unique to that

couple as it will be a giftthat is

right after I finished stitching the

Liverpool FC emblem (it’s one of his

favourites, obviously). To make our

relationship warmer I stitched a

heart-shaped Christmas tree

decoration – and we started to

understand each other better. Finally,

while we had summervacations – I

bought a kit of the wolf’s family. After a

year this picture turned into our family

guardian: wolves are a great symbol of

love and devotion in CS, and when they

are with their cubs – well, it’s like a

double luck! I can’t say that I’m a

superstitious one, but I just can’t ignore

such things. People like fairy tales and

magical stories, so why not to make our

cross stitchings a little bit more special?

Remember that love is always around.

The wolf’s family – one of my

favourites! 5
