PLACEthe waste canvasinthe centre of
the felt. Tackinplace around the edges.
Stitchinthe normal way, following the
chart, working over the waste canvas
threads like a grid, takingcare not to catch
any of the threads asyou stitch.
PLACEyourstitched feltand feltbacking
fabrictogether, withthe cut ends ofthe
foldedribbonbetween the layersatthe
top. Workrunningstitcharoundthe edge
of the felt, using allsix strandsof stranded
cotton, to join the layerstogether.
COMPLETEallthe stitching and
trimaway any unstitched canvas,
thenusing a water spray, wet the
canvasto release the starchholding the
threads together. Use tweezersto gently
pullout the threads,leaving justthe
stitchingonthe felt.
CREATEa stifferkey fob ifyou prefer, by
insertinga cardboard shape between
the layersbefore stitching. Attacha split
ringand yourkey to fi nish.

in case it shrinks slightly
