AS A GIFT, my son
and daughter-in-law
took me to the Desert
Botanical Garden in
Phoenix, Arizona, where
I took this photo of a
white peacock butterfly
drinking nectar from a
daisy. It reminds me of my
childhood when I would
chase after butterflies
and pick wild daisies to
give to my mother.

LAST SUMMER I planted several flowers native to
Pennsylvania. The flowers attracted an abundance
of butterflies and bees. I would go out each day to
garden and to photograph the wildlife with my Nikon
COOLPIX P900. This orange sulfur butterfly caught
my eye because it matched the flowers.
