IT WAS QUIET
by Lake Champlain in
South Hero, Vermont,
and the late afternoon
sun was backlighting a
lonely giant swallowtail.
I spent quite a long time
photographing it, mostly
as it sat on the flowers,
but I got lucky with a
few flight shots, too.
This photo reflects
the natural beauty of
Vermont, and I felt
fortunate to share it
with this wonderful,
animated butterfly.
