Attract butterf lies with this stunning speckled f lower.
Iris domestica ‘Freckle Face’,
Zones 4 to 10
Despite its name, this gorgeous
flower is actually a part of the iris
family. The flowers of this short-
lived perennial become seedpods,
which eventually split open to
reveal dark berries that resemble
blackberries. Keep in mind that
this plant does spread easily and is
considered invasive in some areas.
Blackberry Lily Attracts:
Light needs: Full sun to part shade.
Size: 18 to 24 inches high and 12 to
18 inches wide.
Grown for: Gorgeous cut flowers,
border gardening, and the option
of being kept in containers.
Foliage: Long green petals, similar
to ones on an iris.
Seasonal interest: The stunning
orange petals give way to shiny
seeds in autumn.
