As if flying through the galaxy, a
young Caribbean reef squid drifts
in the shallows of The Bahamas,
surrounded by plankton prey.

shore during the day, but move out
to the open ocean at night to hunt
alongside the adults. They are avid
predators, eating 40–60 per cent
of their bodyweight every day.
