Where do you place
a ceiling fan?
Ideally, you’d place a fan in the center of the room. If
the room is not square, use multiple fans and arrange
them equidistant from each other and the walls.
If you have recessed lights, pay particular attention to
the placement of the fan in relation to the lights: A blade
fl itting over the face of a light will cause a strobe eff ect.
Although the optimal placement height varies with
the room, generally set the fan blades 8 to 11 feet from
the fl oor. At a minimum, the blades should be 7 feet
from the fl oor for safety.
