NECKBAND
Using 4mm needles and yarn B,
cast on 36 sts

TO MAKE UP
Sew centre seam of Body and
head, leaving a gap near head,
then aix safety eyes. Stuf head
and body. Thread a tapestry
needle with yarn A and sew
running stitch around neckline.
Pull to gather and deine head.
Close gap. Sew Arm seams
leaving top open. Stuf and shape
hands. Oversew hand to form a
thumb. Sew seam on Legs and
stuf, pushing extra illing into
feet. Attach Arms and Legs to
body. Join centre back seam on
Cap. Place Cap onto top section
of head, pulling point down
towards eyes. Sew in position.
Fold Antennae in half lengthways
and sew into a tube shape. Roll
each end into a tight curl and
secure with stitches. Sew centre
of Antennae piece to top of Cap.
Sew Wings to back of body,
overlapping slightly at top.
Embroider eyebrows and mouth.
Put Neckband around neckline
and join at front. Gather centre of
Bow and sew onto Neckband,
covering join LK

When working in stripes
you can either cut the yarn
and weave in the ends
each time or you can carry
the unused colour up the
side of the work. On wide
stripe patterns, give the
two colours a twist on every
alternate row to prevent
large loops. When using
darker shades, you may
get a little show-through
but this will be mostly
hidden in the seam.
