Italy central midfielder Tonali
has been destined for one of
Serie A’s giants for at least two
seasons, with comparisons to
Andrea Pirlo becoming louder and
louder. Given those comparisons, it
seemed likely that Pirlo’s appointment
asJuventus head coach would give
the Italian champions a significant
advantage in the race for the talented
20-year-old, so it was something of a
coup for Milan to beat rivalsJuve and
Internazionale to the signing.

passing range, Tonali has the mobility
and defensive nous to truly control the
midfield. He will pull the strings in an
exciting young Milan side that is packed
with potential and led by the evergreen
Zlatan Ibrahimovic. After ending last
season so strongly, they have high hopes
of returning to the Champions League
for the first time since 2013-14.2
