MIZUNO ENERZY
£TBC, mizuno.com

You can’t miss the Mizuno Enerzy. No, really:
it’s probably the most unique-looking trainer
design on the market today. That accident-in-
the-Flubber-factory look isn’t just for show,
though; Mizuno reckons its strategically placed
Enerzy foam offers a 15% increase in rebound,
putting much more energy back into your legs
with every stride. There’s a brand new mid-sole
Enerzy core inside, adding even more
bounceback and what Mizuno claims is a 293%
softness boost to your poor beleaguered soles.
Whether the Enerzy will meet the lofty claims
of Mizuno’s video ad, which somewhat
hopefully shows a freerunner leaping 12 feet
into the air like Michael Jordan with a jetpack,
remains to be seen. But we’re excited for their
potential, and Mizuno looks to have two more
Enerzy designs lined up for later in the year.

T3 SAYS: We can’t wait to bounce around.

ZOOM H
£507, zoom-na.com

If you’re recording sound in the field, you’re
probably packing a Zoom recorder. Its H-series
SD card recorders are already so beloved
they’ve become the de facto standard, and the
extreme-looking H8 looks set to both continue
that legacy and bring Zoom to the heart of
home recording setups too. Like the H6 before
it, the handy stereo X/Y mics on the top edge
can be switched out for other recording
modules, including an expansion module that
adds an additional four inputs to the generous
six on board. Outside of the tactile mic gain
knobs, everything’s driven through a touch
screen interface, which can act as a mixer, a
podcast soundboard, an effects driver, and it
can even model guitar amplification or offer
precise metering. A potent combo.

T3 SAYS: We’re happy to go on record that we
think Zoom has nailed this one.
