So now we know: the PS5 has been priced at £450 for the 4K Blu-ray
disc drive version. That means Sony’s next-gen PlayStation is taking
on the Xbox Series X on exactly level terms – how’s that for a console
war? Even more interesting is the discless machine battleground. At
£250, the Xbox Series S (see p14) is comfortably the most affordable
next-gen console, but it’ll be less powerful than £360 PS5 Digital
Edition. Decisions, decisions. Pre-orders are open now, and the PS
arrives in the UK on 19 November – a week after America and some
other very lucky territories. The Xbox gets a global release 10 days
before that. Let hyper-realistic battle commence.

ZTE AXON 20 5G
We’ve had the notch, the punch-hole and various takes on the pop-up,
but ZTE’s Axon 20 5G is the first ever phone to have a selfie snapper
under the display. To balance the performance of the display and the
32MP front camera, ZTE’s high-transparency material includes organic
and inorganic films to improve light input to the lens. It’s also created an
algorithm to optimise camera performance in less than brilliant lighting...
we’ll reserve judgement on that until we’ve had a go. Otherwise this
mid-ranger has an enormous 6.92in FHD+ OLED display, a quad-cam
rear setup (64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth, 2MP macro), a
4200mAH battery, up to 8GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 765G chip.
