(Antfer) #1
iPAD (2020)
For a lot of people the standard
10.2in iPad is still the best one
for the job – and while the
upgrades here might seem
modest, they should ensure
that remains the case. Its A
Bionic chip is a major leap, with
a six-core CPU and quad-core
GPU offering twice the graphic
grunt and a 40% improvement
on processor speed. It also
means the most affordable
iPad has the Neural Engine for
the first time, giving it machine
learning and AR powers. It’s
compatible with the first-gen
Apple Pencil and runs iPad OS
14 too. Just avoid the cheapest
model – 32GB storage is pish.

APPLE ONE
Serious fans tend to sign up
for whatever services Apple
throws at them. If that’s you,
sniff out Apple One. It offers
different combos for a flat
monthly fee: £15 gets you
Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple
Arcade and 50GB of storage;
£20 stretches the storage to
200GB; and £30 brings 2TB
of space plus access to Apple
News+ and Apple Fitness+.

Twin

The iPad Pro has four
speakers while the Air still
only has two, but there’s one
at each end so you’ll get
proper stereo when you
turn it round to watch
a movie.

Lightning
struck off
As well as minty green, the
new iPad Air also comes in the
sky blue pictured here plus the
more familiar rose gold, silver
and space grey. All come
with a USB-C cable
and adaptor.
