TIMES JOURNALISM FOR THE AGES

Nikole Hannah-Jones and her team have been recognized for The

1619 Project. This initiative explores the beginning of American slavery

and reframes the country’s history by placing the consequences of

slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the very center

of our national narrative.

Reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey have been recognized for

their 2019 book, “She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story

That Helped Ignite a Movement.” Kantor and Twohey’s book — which

originated in their Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting for The Times —

explores their journalistic process in the #MeToo era.

Correspondent Sheri Fink has been recognized for her 2013 book,

“Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital.”

Fink’s book, which builds upon her 2009 piece in The New York

Times Magazine, depicts a hospital in the days during and after
