FILTER BY FONTS
The first thing we want to do is
change the font from Montserrat
to Amboy across the whole set of
artboards. Take a look at the top
left of the Layers panel and you’ll
see a drop-down menu labeled
“Kind” and a series of icons to
its right. These are the filter and
search options. On the far right is
a switch. If the drop-down menu
and icons are grayed out, flip the
switch into the upright position to
activate them.
Click on the T in that row of icons.
This is going to filter all the text lay-
ers on all the artboards in the entire
document, so all you should see in
the Layers panel are the text layers.
Next, click on the top layer and Shift-
click the bottom layer to select all the
type layers in the Layers panel.
Now any changes you make will
apply across all those layers. With
the Type tool (T) active, click on the
font drop-down menu up in the
Options Bar. Then scroll down to
the typeface you want (in this case
we’re going for Amboy) and this
will globally change the font across
all artboards.
As an alternative, you can also
search for a specific word that you
want to change, such as “WEB” in
this example. Click on the Kind drop-
down menu, and select Name. Type
in the word that you want to change
to see the type layers that contain
that word. Now when you select
each of those layers and make your
text changes.
When you’re ready to turn off
the filtering, either select Kind in that
drop-down menu, or click on the
switch to turn it off.
Okay, this first part was pretty
easy: filter, select, and change.
