My favorite issue of the year is
here! (Well, it’s pretty much
everybody’s favorite issue, so
I really didn’t stick my neck out
very far on this one.) It’s our
Annual 100 Photoshop Hot Tips
issue. Each year, we gather a
collection of some of the top
Photoshop experts in our indus-
try to share their favorite tips,
workarounds, and tricks, and
they’re all here in this issue. It
starts on page 49, so I’ll let you
jump over there and check it out
right now (but don’t forget to
come back here and finish read-
ing this note).
Next issue, we’ll be expand-
ing the magazine (and its frequency) as we welcome
back the contents of Lightroom Magazine into our fold
(it started on its own, then it became part of this mag-
azine for a while, then it went out on its own again
for a number of years, but now it’s coming back to
Photo shop User). We’ll also be expanding the number of
issues of Photoshop User that we publish from its current
10 issues per year to 12 issues, and we’re looking for
it to release on the first business day of each month so
you can start each month with lots of new content for
Lightroom and Photoshop.
Online, we’ve got some really amazing new classes,
and one in particular I want to point out is Glyn Dewis’s
new course on Photoshop selection techniques. It’s really
fantastic (here’s a link to the official trailer for the course,
and if you watch it, it will have you hooked). Selections are
a topic a lot of folks struggle with, but Adobe has made
the process of selections so much faster and easier and,
coupled with Glyn’s tips and techniques, you’ll be doing
things, selection-wise, you never thought you would.
For the Members’ website, I just recorded two videos
that I think will help a lot of people who are new to
KelbyOne, but it will also help a lot of folks who have
been around a while who haven’t taken advantage of
everything we’ve put together for our members. The first
video focuses on how to find courses, how to use the
Dashboard, and how to get to the training you’re look-
ing for quickly. The second video is all about the benefitswe offer outside of the courses. These videos should be
up within a week or so, so keep an eye out for them on
your Dashboard. They’re short and to the point, so even
if you’ve been with us for a while, you still might find
something new or helpful.
We’re also about to announce a new two-day live
online conference that should be really exciting. We’ll
have more news on that in the coming week. Well, that’s
a quick look at what’s going on here. Don’t forget to go
check out the KelbyOne Community (the direct link to
the Community is in the left sidebar on your Dashboard).
It’s such a friendly and welcoming group of members
from all over the world, helping each other out. If you’re
not dropping in there, you’re missing out on something
very special.
