back to bite them.

fancy new haircut,
leaving him to do a lot
of soul-searching, while

having excellent foils
in her sister Lucy
(Fiona Button) and
best friend, Scoopy
(Cariad Lloyd). The
lightness of tone
allows for a playful
examination of meaty
themes, especially
when it comes to the
loneliness and fury
of Sara’s brittle mum,
superbly played by
Juliet Stevenson.

from a boyfriend. “I am
going to destroy your
faith in love,” she says
with a winning smile.
So far, so typical angsty
TV comedy laced with
the familiar aromas of
white wine and finding
happiness in a hostile
world. Yet while this
has elements of other
recent, highly personal
female-led shows such
as Fleabag and Roisin
