Family Setup, using their own Apple ID so they
can follow their schedule and family events
using Calendar, learn to manage tasks with
Reminders, view photo albums synced from
a guardian’s iPhone, and more. And thanks to
the launch of Apple Cash Family, parents are
now able to send their kids money to spend on
school supplies and lunches using Apple Pay -
all without the need for handing over cash or
giving them access to your credit card. Parents
can opt-in to receive notifications when kids
pay, and view purchases right in Wallet on their
iPhone, offering ultimate peace of mind.


Family Setup really comes into its own with
Schooltime, which helps kids stay focused when
they’re learning at home or in the classroom.
During Schooltime, a distinctive yellow circle
is displayed on the watch face, which means
access to apps is switched off, which will
ensure kids aren’t distracted and can’t access
features like iMessages in the middle of Math.
Over time, as this feature becomes more
widespread, it’s expected teachers will be able
to tap into the technology and send reminders
for homework, lunch money, and more. Apple
Watch has also been optimized for older adults,
including advanced fall detection and irregular
rhythm notifications. A new Extra-Large watch
face shows the time and a complication at a
glance, and onboarding has been refined with
accessibility and connection in mind.
