Love and Monsters

Monsters have taken over the world, driving
Joel Dawson (Dylan O’Brien) and the rest of
humanity underground. There, Dawson hears
that his high-school lover Aimee (Jessica
Henwick) lives just 80 miles away, leading him
to venture out to her despite the monsters in
his way.

1. This film was called Monster Problems
   when its development was reported
   in 2012.


2. At that time, Shawn Levy was a producer
   and Brian Duffield was a scriptwriter for the
   project – and the two men kept these credits
   in the finished film.


3. This film’s dog character, named Boy, was
   a role shared by two dogs: Australian kelpies
   called Hero and Dodge.


4. The film’s previously-intended
   theatrical release was axed due to the
   COVID-19 pandemic.


5. Earlier this year, O’Brien starred as the male
   lead in Apple TV+ series Amazing Stories’ first
