There are two main origin traditions: one focuses on Lake Titicaca, located on
the border between present-day Peru and Bolivia; the other centers on the site of
Pacariqtambo, an archaeological site (now known as Maucallacta) located some
26 kilometers southwest of Cuzco. A few origin myths combine these two sites
