USA-MEXICO BORDER 3
The international border linking
San Diego in the USA with
Tijuana in Mexico is crossed by
thousands of workers every day.
Both countries are part of a free
trade area, but their long, joint
border is heavily policed to
prevent immigrants from Mexico
entering the USA illegally in order
to seek work and a better
standard of living.
GUARDED BORDER 3
Some borders are disputed and heavily guarded, such as this one
between North and South Korea, which was the scene of fierce
fighting between the two nations in 1950–53.
