Ridge Diagonal
Dropping a stitch every few post stitches creates the look of the
stitch falling down, while the post gives a bit of texture to the
whole fabric. Using an odd number of colors makes changes a
breeze.
Ch a multiple of 4 sts plus 1.
Row 1 (WS): Dc in 4th ch from hk (sk ch counts as dc), dc in
next ch and ea ch across, change color, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 2 dc, FPtr in next dc, dc
in next 3 dc; rep from across, dc in t-ch, change color, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 3 dc, BPtr in next dc;
rep from across to last 2 dc, dc in next dc, dc in t-ch, change
color, turn.
Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), FPtr in next dc, dc in next 3 dc;
rep from across to last 2 dc, FPtr in next dc, dc in t-ch, change
color, turn.
Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next dc, BPtr in next dc, dc
in next 3 dc; rep from across to t-ch, dc in t-ch, change col-
ors, turn.
Rep rows 2–5 to desired length.
