Dropped Simple Stitch
This simple lace stitch pattern can be challenging if you don’t watch
the number of stitches on each forward row. Be careful not to add
stitches to the beginning or end of the row.
Ch any number of sts.
Row 1 (RS) Fwd: Pull up lp in 2nd ch from hk and ea ch across. Rtn:
Yo, pull through 1 lp on hk, yo, pull through 2 lps on hk; rep from
to end.
Row 2 Fwd: (Lp on hk counts as 1st st throughout.) Insert hk between
2nd and 3rd sts (around horiz bars) and pull up a lp, insert hk btw
next 2 sts and pull up a lp; rep from across to last st, Tss in last st.
Rtn: Yo, pull through 1 lp on hk, yo, pull through 2 lps on hk; rep
from to end.
Row 3 Fwd: (Lp on hk counts as 1st st throughout.) Insert hk between
1st and 2nd sts and pull up a lp, insert hk btw next 2 sts and pull up
a lp; rep from across to last 2 sts, sk 2nd to last st, Tss in last st.
Rtn: Yo, pull through 1 lp on hk, yo, pull through 2 lps on hk; rep
from to end.
Rep rows 2 and 3 to desired length.
Last row: Insert hk btw next 2 sts, pull up a lp and through lp on hk;
rep from across to last st, Tss in last st and pull through lp on hk;
fasten off.
