You can make this simple granny come alive by changing color on

every other round to highlight the small stitches on the wrong-side

rounds.

Ch 4, sl st to 1st ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in ring, [ch 3, 3 dc in ring]

3 times, ch 3, sl st to top of t-ch, turn, fasten off—12 dc.

Rnd 2: Join new color, ch 1, *[sc, ch 3, sc] in ch-3 sp, ch 3; rep

from * around, sl st to 1st sc, turn, fasten off—8 sc.

Rnd 3: Join new color, ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in ch-3 sp, *[3 dc,

ch 3, 3 dc] in next ch-3 sp, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp; rep from * around

to last ch-3 sp, [3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc] in last ch-3 sp, sl st to top of t-ch,

fasten off, turn—36 dc.

Rnd 4: Join new color, ch 1, sc btw t-ch and dc,

*ch 3, [sc, ch 3, sc] in next ch-3 sp, [ch 3, sk 3 dc,

sc btw prev and next dc] twice; rep from * around,

sl st to 1st sc, fasten off, turn—16 sc.

Rnd 5: Join new color, ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in

ch-3 sp, *3 dc in next ch-3 sp, [3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc] in

next ch-3 sp, 3 dc in next 2 ch-3 sps; rep from *

around to last ch-3 sp, 3 dc in last ch-3 sp, sl st to

Rnd 6: Join new color, ch 1, sc btw t-ch and dc,
