Nelke Motif
This can be both a flower motif and a tiny doily. Stretch out
and stiffen for a snowflake, or crochet tightly with a thick yarn
to let the yarn curl the petals.
Picot: Ch 3, sl st to 1st ch.
Ch 4, sl st to 1st ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 2, 2 dc-cl in ring, [ch 3, picot, 3 dc-cl in ring]
4 times, ch 3, picot, sl st to dc-cl, do not turn—5 dc-cl.
Rnd 2: Sl st in ch-3 sp, ch 1, sc in same ch-3 sp, ch 5, sc in
next ch-5 sp; rep from to last ch-5 sp, ch 2, dc in 1st sc, do
not turn—5 ch-sps.
Rnd 3: Sl st around post of dc, ch 2, 2 dc-cl around post of dc,
ch 2, sl st to next sc, [ch 2, 2 dc-cl, ch 2, sl st, ch 2, 2 dc-cl,
ch 2] in next ch-5 sp, sl st in next sc; rep from around, ch 2,
2 dc-cl in 1st ch-2 sp, hdc in 1st sl st, do not turn—10 dc-cl.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, sl st to hdc, sl st to next ch-2 sp, ch 3, [sl st, ch
3, sl st] in next dc-cl, ch 3, sl st to next ch-2 sp; rep from
around to last ch-2 sp, sl st to last ch-2 sp, ch 3, [sl st, ch 3, sl
st] in next dc-cl, fasten off—30 ch-3 sps.^1
