If you have not tried crocheting into the post of a stitch to see the

cool shapes it makes, this doily will give you all the practice you

need to master the technique.

Ch 10, sl st to 1st ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, 24 sc in ring, sl st to 1st sc, do not turn—24 sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 6, *sk next sc, dtr in next sc, ch 4, dc in middle of dtr

post; rep from * around, dc in 3rd ch of t-ch, ch 2, hdc in 6th ch

of t-ch (counts as ch-sp), do not turn—12 ch-4 sps.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, 3 sc around post of hdc, *ch 3, 5 sc in next ch-4 sp;

rep from * around, ch 3, 2 sc in ch-2 sp, sl st to 1st sc, do not

turn—60 sc.

Rnd 4: Ch 6, *dtr in next ch-3 sp, ch 4, dc in middle of dtr post,

sk 2 sc, dtr in next sc, ch 4, dc in middle of dtr post; rep from *

around, dtr in next ch-3 sp, ch 4, dc in middle of dtr

post, dc in 3rd ch of t-ch, ch 2, hdc in 6th ch of t-ch,

do not turn—23 ch-4 sps.

Rnd 5: Ch 1, 3 sc around post of hdc, *[sc, 4 hdc, sc]

in next ch-4 sp, [3 sc, ch 2, 3 sc] in next ch-4 sp; rep

from * around, [sc, 4 hdc, sc] in last ch-4 sp, 3 sc in

ch-2 sp, ch 2, sl st to 1st sc, fasten off—96 sc.
