Bernard Snowflake

The lacy chain spaces of this snowflake’s center set up the final
round for the dramatic set of double crochet. Be sure to block to get
the snowflake to lay flat.


Picot: Ch 4, sl st to prev sc.


Ch 6, sl st to 1st ch to form a ring.


Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 2, 2 dc-cl in ring, [ch 4, 3 dc-cl] in ring 5 times, ch
2, hdc in top of 2 dc-cl, do not turn—6 dc-cl.


Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc around post of hdc, ch 5, sc in dc-cl, ch 5, sc in
ch-4 sp; rep from
around to last ch-4 sp, ch 5, sc in dc-cl, ch 2, dc
in 1st sc (counts as ch-sp), do not turn—12 ch-sps.


Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc around post of dc, ch 7, sc in next ch-5 sp; rep
from
around to last ch-5 sp, ch 3, tr in 1st sc, do not turn—12 ch-
sps.


Rnd 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 6 dc around post of dc, sc in next ch-7
sp, picot, 13 dc in next ch-7 sp; rep from
around to last ch-7 sp, sc
in last ch-7 sp, picot, 6 dc in ch-3 sp, sl st to top of t-ch, fasten off.
