V-Stitch Seam

This technique to join two motifs is very commonly
used in Belgium lace crochet. Here it adds a bit of lace
to solid motifs to transform them into a completely
different fabric.

V-Stitch (v-st): [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in same st or sp.

Align the edges of the motifs side-by-side, and join the
yarn to the motif on the left; chain 7.

Row 1 (RS): Sl st to corner of
motif on right, sk 3 ch, v-st in
next ch, ch 1, sl st to motif on
left (about the same height as
row 1), turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, v-st in ch-1 sp
on v-st, ch 1, sk 3 sts on right
motif, sl st to next st of motif
on right, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, v-st in ch-1 sp on
v-st, ch 1, sl st to motif on the
left, turn.

Rep rows 2 and 3 up the motifs
to the end, fasten off.
