Bloque Stitch


The dropped double crochet puffs out, creating a thick, yet soft,
woven-like fabric.


Ch a multiple of 4 sts plus 2.


Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hk (sk sts count as dc), dc in next ch,
ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in next 2 ch; rep from across to last ch, dc in
last ch, turn.


Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as hdc, ch 2), sk next 2 dc, dc in next 2 ch on
foundation ch (working over ch-2 sp), ch 2; rep from
across, hdc in
t-ch, turn.


Row 3: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), dc in next 2 dc 2 rows below (working
over ch-2 sp), ch 2, sk next 2 dc; rep from
across, dc in next 2 dc
2 rows below, hdc in t-ch, turn.


Row 4: Ch 4 (counts as hdc, ch 2), sk next 2 dc, dc in next 2 dc 2
rows below (working over ch-2 sp), ch 2; rep from
across, hdc in
t-ch, turn.


Rep rows 3 and 4 to desired length.

Kabeli Corded Stitch


Reverse single crochet stitches create a bold line in this pattern,
which can be great for cleaning pads or for showing off tiny
waistlines.


Reverse Single Crochet (rev sc): Insert hk back into prev st (to the
right in the clockwise direction), yo, pull up lp twisting hk around
to face upwards, yo, pull through sts on hk.


Ch any number of sts.


Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hk and ea ch across, do not turn.


Row 2: Working from left to right, ch 1, rev sc in flp of ea dc
across, sl st to top of t-ch, do not turn.


Row 3: Ch 3, dc blp in ea dc 2 rows below (working in rem lp
behind rev sc), do not turn.


Rep rows 2 and 3 to desired length.
