Rep row 2 to desired length.
TIP
Cables are one technique that does take some time
to master. The key to mastering them is the post
stitches. If you are a tight crocheter, they can be
really difficult to do since you usually need to
cross over other stitches. Try going up a few hook
sizes to force yourself to make a looser gauge. Try
exaggerating the yarn overs by pulling your loops
all the way to the top of the row to give you just a
bit of extra yarn to do those crosses.
Basketweave Stitch
This classic stitch works great for home projects from blan-
kets to pillows.
Ch a multiple of 8 sts plus 4.
Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hk and ea ch across, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), FPdc in next 4 dc, BPdc in next
4 dc; rep from across to t-ch, dc in top of t-ch, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), BPdc in next 4 dc, FPdc in next
4 dc; rep from across to t-ch, dc in top of t-ch, turn.
Rows 4 and 5: Rep rows 2 and 3 once.
Row 6: Ch 3 (counts as dc), BPdc in next 4 dc, FPdc in next
4 dc; rep from across to t-ch, dc in top of t-ch, turn.
Row 7: Ch 3 (counts as dc), FPdc in next 4 dc, BPdc in next
4 dc; rep from across to t-ch, dc in top of t-ch, turn.
Rows 8 and 9: Rep rows 6 and 7 once.
Rep rows 2–9 to desired length.
