Stamp a festivegreetingacross the top
half of the tag using alphabet stamps
and black ink. Leave to one side to dry. If you
don’t have any alphabet stamps, then you
could print onto the tags or use a stencil.

2

Print out the charts below onto plain
white paper. Cut the paper to 3.5cm
( 1 ½in) wide and magic tape it onto the
bottom half of the tag, making sure that the
design is positioned in the centre.

3
Lay the tag flat onto a cutting mat and,
using a perforating tool, pierce through
the paper and the tag following the motif

pattern on the chart. Apply enough pressure
so that the tool pierces through the tag but
doesn’t make too large a hole in it.

4

Onceyou’veperforated the whole
design, remove the paper and go back
over each of the holes with an embroidery
needle to prepare themfor stitching. Then
thread the needle with cotton in the
appropriate colour andstitchthedesign.

Cut a length of Baker’s twine
measuring 30cm (12in), fold it in half,
then loop through the hole in the top of the
tag,asshown, tofinish.
