74 | 25bh OCTOBER 2017house, Gregory has continued this monochromatic palette, to whichhe has added layers of colour and texture. âIf your background isneutral then you can go a bit wild with your accent tones,â he advises.âI love colour and Iâm a great believer in having fun with interiors. After all, itâs your home and youâre going to live in it. To make itwork visually, I would advise that one main colour should make up70 per cent of the scheme, a secondary shade 20 per cent, finishingoff with an accent highlight of 10 per cent. This is the formula thatensures a design scheme f lows well and doesnât look over-the-top.âUpcycled furniture used throughout the house gives the interiora stylish, individual feel, mixing different periods and looks. âWepersonalised our vintage furniture by choosing vibrant designerwallpaper to cover door fronts,â says Gregory. âThe black-and-whitejungle wallpaper used for the media cabinet in the sitting room, for example, was one of Nick âs finds.âWith the interior and garden space complete, the couple hasdeveloped a taste for renovation. âBut if we did it again, I think weâdgo for a smaller job,â ref lects Gregory. âThat being said, I donât thinkit will be long before we try our hand again. Weâre not propertydevelopers â we simply love transforming interiors.â
