Metropolitan Forecast
TODAY .....................................Mostly sunny
High 73. High pressure over the North-
east will promote a mostly sunny sky
through the afternoon. A breeze will keep
warm air over the region. Some daily high
temperature records will be challenged.
TONIGHT .....................Mainly clear, fog late
Low 58. A mainly clear sky is forecast for
most of the night, but areas of patchy fog
are expected to develop late, mainly in
valleys and near the water. It will remain
mild with a light wind.
TOMORROW ...............Sunshine and clouds
High 68. The morning will start off with
areas of patchy fog, clearing out for some
sunshine by midmorning.
WEDNESDAY ............Humid, afternoon rain
A cold front from the west will create a
mostly cloudy sky. Intervals of rain are
expected throughout the day and
overnight as this front passes. Humidity
will increase.
THURSDAY
FRIDAY .....................................Periodic rain
Thursday will be cooler and remain mostly
cloudy with a couple of showers, mainly
early. High 62. Friday will be rather cloudy
and seasonably cool. High 54.
Another warm day of warm with mainly
dry weather will stretch from the southern
Plains through the Mississippi and Ohio
valleys and into the Mid-Atlantic and New
England today.
Meanwhile, Eta will pull away from
Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico, but
localized downpours and gusty winds are
expected. Persistent winds off the Atlantic
Ocean will create rough surf and coastal
flooding problems at times of high tide
from North Carolina to Florida.
Ahead of a push of colder air into the
Midwest, thunderstorms are forecast to
develop from Nebraska to Minnesota.
The Western States will be chilly with
