Giants’ skid vs. Eagles

hasn’t been total loss

THe STory
Longtime NFC East rivals
meet on Sunday when the
Eagles travel less than 100
miles north up the New Jer-
sey Turnpike to visit the Gi-
ants at MetLife Stadium in
East Rutherford.
Philadelphia improved its
2020 record to 3-4-1 with
two straight wins before the
team’s Week 9 bye. This
marks the eighth time in the
past 20 years that the Eagles
have played a road game
after their bye — they’ve
gone 5-2 both straight-up
and against the spread in
their previous seven post-
bye road games.
The 2-7 Giants have strug-
gled at home in recent sea-
sons, going 5-16 straight-up
and 4-16-1 against the
spread at MetLife Stadium
since the start of 2018. The
only two games New York
has won in 2020 have been
against Washington, the lat-
est being a 23-20 victory as
a 3-point road underdog
this past Sunday.
The Eagles’ odds to beat
Giants opened at -175 at
FOX Bet Sportsbook, which
implies Philadelphia has a
64 percent chance of win-
ning.

THe HiSTory
The Eagles have
gotten the better of
this head-to-head
series in recent
seasons, winning
all seven meetings
between the teams
since the start of
the 2017 sea-
son. The
majority
of those
games
have
been
close,
however,
as the Gi-
ants are 5-2 against the
spread when facing Phila-
delphia in that span. Only
two of the past 10 meetings
between the teams have
been decided by more than
six points. Going back to
the start of the 2014 sea-
son, the Eagles are 12-1

straight-up and 7-6 against
the spread when facing the
Giants.
The first 2020 meeting
between these teams took
place on Oct. 22, with Phila-
delphia winning 22-21 in
come-from-behind fashion.
Leading an offense missing
eight starters, quarterback
Carson Wentz threw an 18-
yard TD pass to Boston
Scott with 40 seconds re-

maining as the Eagles over-
came an 11-point deficit in
the game’s final seven min-
utes.
This time around, FOX Bet
Sportsbook is offering odds
of +350 for Carson Wentz to
throw for 300 or more yards
and the Eagles to win the
game.

THe STarS of THe SHow
In addition to Wentz,
there are a couple of receiv-
ing stars to watch. Philadel-
phia wideout Travis Ful-
gham has emerged as one of
the NFL’s best stories in re-
cent weeks. After not even
having a spot on Philadel-
phia’s active roster until
less than six weeks ago, Ful-
gham leads the team with
435 receiving yards since
the start of October while
scoring a touchdown in
four of the Eagles’ five
games.
FOX Bet Sportsbook is of-
fering +275 odds on Travis
Fulgham to get 75 or more
receiving yards and score a
touchdown against the Gi-
ants on Sunday.
On the other side of the
field, Giants receiver Sterling
Shepard has been his team’s
most productive receiver
after missing four games
with a toe injury he suffered
in Week 2. In three games
since returning, Shepard has
caught 20 passes for 172
yards, and he scored a
touchdown in the
first of those three
games, which
was New York’s
22–21 loss to
Philadelphia
on Oct. 22.
FOX Bet
Sportsbook
is offering
+333 odds on
Travis Ful-
gham and
Sterling She-
pard to each
have 75 or
more receiv-
ing yards on
Sunday.

A $10 bet on Carson
Wentz to reach 300
passing yards and the
Eagles to win would
pay $45.
