A PRO DISPLAY TO MATCH


It wouldn’t be right for Apple to introduce a
new $5,999 Mac Pro without offering a display
to match, and after months of speculation, the
company delivered on rumors of a new high-
end screen. The new Apple Pro Display XDR
features a breathtaking 32-inch LCD panel with
a 6016 x 3384 Retina 6K resolution, offering
more than 20 million pixels. As demonstrated on
stage at WWDC 2019, the new display offers a
super-sharp, high-resolution viewing experience
and boasts 40 percent more screen real estate
than a Retina 5K display, making it perfect
for professional users in the editing suite. The
screen features a P3 wide color gamut and true
10-bit color for over 1 billion colors, offering a
‘true to life’ viewing experience on the Mac, and
the “industry’s best polarizer technology,” as
well as anti-reflective coating and an optional
matte option called nano-texture, which offers
a superwide, color-accurate, off-axis viewing
angle, allowing more people to view content
simultaneously in the workroom.


What sets the Apple Pro Display XDR apart
from other high-end monitors is its direct
backlighting system, which features an array
of LEDs that produce 1,000 nits of full-screen
brightness and 1,600 nits of peak brightness,
which go way beyond a typical display. With
