Universal Audio added that the “new Mac Pro
is a breakthrough in recording and mixing
performance,” and that “our most demanding
users will be able to track and mix the largest
sessions effortlessly,” whilst Epic Games said
it “can’t wait to see how the new Mac Pro
enhances our customers’ limitless creativity in
cinematic production, visualization, games and
more,” and Pixelmator added that the display
offered a “phenomenal viewing experience like
we never imagined,” cementing the Mac Pro as
the number one choice for professionals.


Outside of the Apple bubble, critics have been
kind to the new powerhouse too, although
they were not able to interact with the new
tower or its corresponding display at WWDC.
TechRadar called the new device “industrial,”
adding that “it’s brutal and says ‘this is for
working on, not to look good’”. TechCrunch
wasn’t so complimentary in its initial review of
the device’s aesthetics, calling the new Mac Pro
a “cheese grater” and adding that “there are
of course some thermal benefits to having a
perforated case, but surely there are other
ways to accomplish that,” whilst Engadget
added that “one of the machine’s biggest
selling points -- aside from its sheer graphical
and compute performance, of course -- is how
relatively accessible the internal components
will be,” and added that the new lifting handle
on the Mac Pro “automatically shuts down
the machine so that you don’t electrocute
yourself or anything.”
