The rise of La Botte Gardiane is
rather surprising. Its original store,
opened in 2012, offers hand-made
French leather versions of these
boots worn by horse breeders in
Camargue since 1958. The
selection for men and women, in
sizes 23 to 47, is huge and the
products tempting, even if you’re
just planning to stroll down rue de
Charonne in them. Come to think
of it, that’s what they’re perfect for!

Repetto had a great idea when it set up store here, almost check-by-jowl with
Isabel Marant, because it’s totally in step with the studied casualness of the rest of
the street. And it works.

LE BAR À SOUPES
This restaurant does exactly what it says on the tin: it only
serves soups, homemade with vegetables in the morning
to enjoy almost straight from the pan, and available in classic
versions, as a velouté with leaks or pumpkin, or with more
surprising ingredients, like carrot, pineapple and ginger. A
real treat for the tastebuds.
