CUT FABRICS
Yardages and cutting instructions are
based on 42" of usable fabric width.
Measurements include^1 ⁄ 2 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise specified.
From print No. 1, cut:
▫ 1—26^1 ⁄ 2 ×41" rectangle
▫ 1—10×41" strip
From print No. 2, cut:
▫ 1—26^1 ⁄ 2 ×41" rectangle
▫ 1—10×41" strip
ASSEMBLE PILLOWCASES
- Join short ends of a print 10×41" strip
to make a loop. Press seam open. Fold
loop in half with wrong side inside;
press to make pillowcase band. Repeat
with remaining print 10×41" strip. - Fold a print 26^1 ⁄ 2 ×41" rectangle in
half crosswise to form a 26^1 ⁄ 2 × 201 ⁄ 2 "
rectangle. Sew together long edges
and one pair of short edges to make
pillowcase body. Turn right side out;
press flat. Repeat with remaining print
261 ⁄ 2 ×41" rectangle.

Follow these instructions to make a
contrasting pair of pillowcases. In our
example, the aqua pillowcase, left, has
a red band and the red pillowcase (not
shown) has an aqua band.

MATERIALS
For two contrasting pillowcases:
▫ 11 ⁄ 8 yards print No. 1
▫ 11 ⁄ 8 yards print No. 2
- Referring to Diagram 1, slide print
No. 1 pillowcase band over print No. 2
pillowcase body; align raw edges and
pin. Sew together through all layers. - Press pillowcase band open,
pressing seam allowances toward
pillowcase body. Topstitch^1 ⁄ 8 " from
band edge on pillowcase body to
secure seam allowances and complete
one pillowcase (Diagram 2). - Using remaining pillowcase band
and body, repeat steps 3 and 4 to
complete a second pillowcase.
