together a pair of assorted print 2×15"
strips to make a strip set. Cut strip set
into four 3^1 ∕ 2 "-wide Rail Fence units.
Repeat to make eight matching Rail
Fence units total.
2. Repeat Step 1 to make 128 (16 sets of
eight) Rail Fence units total.
3. Select a pair of assorted print
37 ∕ 8 " squares. Use a pencil to mark a
diagonal line on wrong side of lighter
square. Layer marked square atop
darker square. Sew together with two
seams, stitching^1 ∕ 4 " on each side of
marked line (Diagram 2). Cut pair
ASSEMBLE BLOCKS
Measurements include^1 ∕ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated
by arrows on diagrams. If no direction
is specified, press seam toward
darker fabric.
