centered, trim each square to 6^1 ⁄ 2 "
square including seam allowances to
make two each of blocks A–I. Use one

PREPARE LEAF UNITS
The Leaf Pattern is on Pattern Sheet 3.
To make a template of the pattern, see
Make and Use Templates, page 100.
Designer Kori Turner-Goodhart
uses a two-layer appliqué method
that gives the appearance of needle-
turn appliqué without having to turn
under seam allowances. The following
instructions are for this method.
- Use a pencil to trace leaf template
onto wrong side of a green print 4^1 ⁄ 2 "
square. Layer marked square atop a
matching green print 4^1 ⁄ 2 " square with
right sides together (Diagram 1).
