as the Bundesliga’s youngest American - Reyna has this season made the step
up from promising teenager to first-
team match-winner. In his first three
league matches, Reyna was directly
involved in four goals, including three
assists in one game.
Born in Sunderland to former Black
Cats midfielder Claudio, Reyna has been
targeted for an England call-up by the
FA. The USA are determined to hold
on to him though, particularly if he
can repeat his father’s success: Reyna
senior went to four World Cups and
was captain in 2006.
