promises to smooth, firm and reduce the

appearance of wrinkles in 14 days. It’s

an ideal pick for those with skin issues.

EXPERT VERDICT Our winning product

received the highest scores in both

performance and ease of use. It was the

runner-up in our test for hydration, with

an increase of 28% after six hours. The

cream achieved a perfect score for not

causing any irritation, so it delivers for

those with sensitive skin. Plus, its light

texture makes it perfect for the summer.

FIRST DEFENCE This oil-free moisturiser

is designed to defend your skin against

environmental damage, such as that

caused by air pollution, while protecting

you from the sun’s rays. It claims to be

lightweight in texture and to leave your

skin soft. The cream is easy to apply and

does not leave a greasy residue.

EXPERT VERDICT Nearly half of the

testers noted improvements in the

appearance of their cheeks, forehead,

neck and the skin around their eyes. The

cream scored well for hydration, with an

increase of 20% after six hours. The only

negative feedback focused on the cream’s

unusual pink colour – nitpicking, really.

SMOOTH OPERATOR Marketed as an

anti-ageing cream, Murad claims to

hydrate the skin and keep the user’s

complexion smooth and free from

redness, which may be particularly useful

after shaving. It’s designed to clear pores

of environmental impurities, as well as

protect the skin from damaging sun rays.

EXPERT VERDICT Half of the testing

panel reported that they looked younger

after use, and many said that the cream

was easy to apply and absorbed quickly.

Their skin felt smoother and looked

brighter. Some testers thought it smelled

clinical, however – it’s more medicine

cabinet than grooming bag.
