Alloy from the other side

BEATS FLEX

You won’t see many Premier League footballers wearing them... but
with everyone else seemingly going bankrupt, the £50 Beats Flex hit
the right note for a pair of wireless earphones in 2020. Made from
Nitinol (a super-elastic alloy), they can coil up in a pocket (hence the
name Flex) or hang around your neck thanks to magnets in the buds.
Packed with new drivers and digital processing, Class 1 Bluetooth,
Apple’s W1 chip, 12-hour battery life and 10-minute fast charging,
there’s plenty here for your money – and four colours to choose from.
They’re out now in black or yellow, but anyone wanting a pair in grey or
blue must be prepared to be Flex-ible and wait until early next year.

Are you for Real?

REALME 7 PRO

If we told you a new phone had a 6.4in Super AMOLED always-on
screen with a fingerprint reader built into it, a 64MP quad-camera
setup, 8GB of RAM and a 4500mAh battery that charged in just over
half an hour, how much would you be willing to pay for it? Way more
than £279, right? Well put your credit card away and cancel that
overtime, because that’s all you need to part with for Realme’s
bargaintastic 7 Pro. It also comes with a Snapdragon 720G processor,
128GB of storage, a 32MP punch-hole camera on the front and an
overwhelming sense that it must be too good to be true... but we
couldn’t find that anywhere on the spec sheet.

RAZER SHARPER
Razer has given a refresh to its Blade
Stealth 13 gaming laptop (from $1700).
With a Full HD OLED touchscreen and
new 11th-gen Core i7 processor, away
from play time it’s an ultrabook for
daily tasks including, Razer says, 2.7x
faster content creation and 20% faster
productivity... which might depend on
how much Doom you’re playing.

HOME CHROME TALENT
As well as those Pixel phones on p10,
Google has released a new Chromecast
(£59) complete with a remote control
so you no longer need to use your phone.
Google Assistant is (obviously) on board
to help you find telly content or control
smart home devices, and it’s available
in white, pink or blue... so a good match
for your TV, then?

FENDER TRENDER
Fender’s latest guitar and bass range
includes a new Dark Night finish that’s
caused us to gently weep tears of joy.
A sort of ‘reverse moonburst’ with
metallic blue edges, it’s available across
the new Am Pro II Series (from £1599),
comprising the pictured Jazzmaster
plus two Teles, two Strats, two Precision
basses and three Jazz basses.

HAPPY AS LARRY
Thought you’d seen the last of naughty
’90s videogame character Leisure Suit
Larry? Think again, because he’s back
in a ‘romantic’ point-and-click PC/Mac
adventure called Wet Dreams Dry Twice,
which sounds like a (thankfully) rejected
Bond movie title. The game’s been twice
delayed, which is surprising as Larry’s
style is usually a premature release.
