Samsung 75Q950TS
£7999 / stuff.tv/Q950TS

It’s not like every home has even
taken up 4K yet, so who needs
an 8K telly? And yet, despite
everything – the price, the lack
of 8K content to actually watch,
the price again – the Samsung
75Q950TS is an absolute stormer
in the picture stakes. Upscaling
from lower resolutions is stunningly
impressive; and if you positively
must have the best images you
can buy, along with as much
future-proofing as possible, then
this is currently the TV for you.

LG OLED 65GX
£2499 / stuff.tv/OLEDGX

Somehow, LG has beaten the
OLED bulge by managing to
squeeze all this set’s necessary
electronics, inputs, speaker drivers
and everything else into a chassis
that’s under 2cm thick all the way
across – which means it might
be the most wall-hangable TV
ever made. And once it’s up there,
it can deliver quite brilliant 4K
(and upscaled) picture quality,
with excellent contrasts, black
depth, detail, edge definition and
motion-handling.

Samsung QE65Q65T
+++++ £1199 / stuff.tv/Q65T
Overlook the humdrum sound and this is one of
the best pound-for-pound goggleboxes around.

Hisense 55U7QF
++++, £799 / stuff.tv/HisenseU7QF
Despite some compromises, these tech specs
at this price equate to decent value.

Sony KD65A8
+++++ £2499 / stuff.tv/SonyA8
What’s a few gaps in specification when
performance is as barnstorming as this?

Panasonic TX-58GX800
+++++ £649 / stuff.tv/58GX800
Not the last word in picture excellence, but this
is a lot of TV for the money.

Sony KD-49XG9005
+++++ £799 / stuff.tv/XG9005
Other Sony TVs are bigger and slimmer, but
none can match this one for value.

LG OLED 55CX
+++++ £1399 / stuff.tv/OLEDCX
LG knows exactly what it’s doing with OLED
and the results here are mighty impressive.

Sony KD65XF9005
+++++ £1439 / stuff.tv/XF9005
It may have a mid-range price, but this Sony’s
4K LCD panel is still a proper belter.

Philips OLED+ 984
£3999 / stuff.tv/OLED984

The new OLED+ 935 looks like a shoo-in for top
spot on this list, but until then we’re more than
happy with its predecessor: the OLED+ 984
offers outstanding picture performance with
universal HDR support, and goes above and
beyond what we expect from television sound
thanks to a custom-made speaker system from
British hi-fi brand Bowers & Wilkins. Plus it looks
gorgeous, particularly with that four-sided
Ambilight in full effect.

Stuff says +++++
Going big on design, performance and
sound, this is the best Philips TV yet

Stuff says +++++
Expensive, yes, but once you see it
on your wall you’ll forget all that

Stuff says +++++
Ridiculously extravagant... but no
other 75in TV looks quite so elegant
