THE TESTS
The new GTX 1660 GPUs have had
us polarized; are they a stellar
upgrade for 1080p gaming builds,
or an awkward stopgap between
10 and 20-series cards? We’ve
snagged a 1660 Ti for this month’s
“Build It,” and it was smooth
sailing. We don’t want to spoil
anything—you can skip ahead a
few pages and read it right now, if
you’re so inclined—but we’d like to
say it went pretty well.
No doubt there will be some
hot discussions about the value
of the 1660. For gamers with
aging pre-960 graphics cards, it
could be a godsend—particularly
given its mainstream price. But
if you’re rocking a 1060 or better,
it’s a difficult to recommend this
newcomer. Sales will tell the tale,
though—Nvidia must have high
hopes for the 1660, as it hasn’t
quite gone for a budget price.
Elsewhere, we’re reviewing
RAM for the first time in ages. We
remembered why we hadn’t done
it for so long—benchmarking RAM
takes time, and had us mashing
buttons in frustration on our test
motherboard. We got there in the
end, but only after several grumpy
glares at the “estimated time
remaining” field in 7zip. There’s
no reason it should be so difficult,
we told ourselves, as we wrestled
with the BIOS for the eighth time.

SYNC YOUR CLIPBOARD ACROSS

MULTIPLE DEVICES

Windows 10 has had the option to save clipboard data to the

cloud for a while, but it isn’t enabled by default. To turn it on,

simply jump into the Settings menu, then find it under “System

Clipboard,” and turn on the “Sync across devices” option.

This will save copied text to the cloud, and enable you to paste

it instantly on your other Window-enabled devices.
