UPLOAD SCREENSHOTS
The easiest way to back up and share your screenshots
is to upload them automatically to an image-sharing
website, such as Imgur. If you chose not to do this w hen set ting up
ShareX, but have changed your mind, click “After capture task”
on the left-hand side of the screen. Next, click to enable “Upload
images to host,” then select the button marked “Destinations.”
From here, you can choose an image host [Image B]. If you select
a host requiring registration, such as Photobucket, ShareX
opens a pop-up window enabling you to sign in. From now on,
when you take a screenshot it is automatically uploaded. Double-
click ShareX image thumbnails to open them in your browser.
Alternatively, right-click a thumbnail, and choose “Copy > URL”
to save the image link to your clipboard. This works for other
images, too. Simply drag any picture into the ShareX window to
upload it to the host.

EDIT SCREENSHOTS
If you’re writing a guide, you may want to edit your
screenshots to highlight a particular section, add a
caption, and so on. To get started, open the “Tools” menu, then
choose “Image Editor.” Alternatively, right-click a screenshot
thumbnail and select “Edit Image.” The image-editing tools are

displayed in a bar along the top of the window, and are
very similar to those available in Microsoft Paint. Use
the hand emoji tool to indicate where to click or enter
text. The ShareX image editor also contains a very useful
Speech Bubble tool for annotating areas of the screen.
If you insert any text into the image, consider using the
Border tool to highlight it in a colorful and striking way
[Image C]. By default, any changes you make are saved
over the original image. However, you can click the “Save
As” button at the top-left to store a new version.

you to effortlessly capture screenshots. For
instance, press the “Print Screen” button while ShareX

ShareX can be programmed to use
Auto Capture, meaning it takes a
screenshot at periodic intervals—
every 30 seconds, for instance. This
can be useful if you’re actively using a
program, such as a video game, so can’t
stop every few seconds to take pictures
of your progress. The Auto Capture
feature can also record screenshots of
ShareX itself, in case you want to share
its features with other PC users.
To get started with Auto Capture,
click the “Capture” button on the
left-hand side of the screen. Scroll

down to “Auto Capture.” Click this
to open the settings. From here, you
can choose to auto capture either the
full screen or a specified area of the
desktop. Use “Repeat time” to alter
the interval at which screenshots are
automatically captured. When you’re
ready, click “Start” to begin auto
capture. Screenshots are saved in the
default ShareX folder in My Documents.
Minimize the ShareX window before
continuing. Once you have captured
all the screenshots you need, restore
the ShareX window, and click “Stop.”
