TENSION
13 sts and 14 rows to measure 10x10cm (4x4in)
over double crochet and 12 sts and 8 rows to
measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over half treble
crochet, both using a 5mm hook

MEASUREMENTS
Scarf measures approx 156x56cm (61x22in)

NOTES
The Scarf is made in two sections, one striped
and one spotted. These are made separately
and sewn together afterwards.
There is a Chart for the spotted section on
page 95, which you should refer to for the
colourwork in the Spotted Section. Each
square represents 1 dc st. Rows 1-30 on the
Chart should be repeated 6 times up to Row
180.
When changing colour mid-row, twist the
ends of the two colours together. Change
colour on the last yrh of st before colour
change is indicated. Carry Rose Pink along the
top of sts and work sts in Yellow over the
carried strand. Do not carry Yellow, simply pick
the yarn back up when you return to the spot
on the next row and use a different ball for

spots worked on the same rows.

There is no RS as the Scarf can be worn with

either side facing out.

SCARF

STRIPED SECTION

Using White, ch37.

Row 1 Htr into third ch from hook (skipped ch

count as st), htr in each ch across, turn. [36 sts]

Row 2 Ch2 (counts as htr throughout), htr in

each st across, turn.

Change to Black.

Rows 3-4 As Row 2.

Change to White.

Rows 5-102 Repeat Row 2, changing between

White and Black every two rows.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

SPOTTED SECTION

Refer to the Chart on page 95 for all colour

changes.

Using Rose Pink, ch37.

Row 1 Dc in second ch from hook, dc in each ch

across, turn. [36 sts]

Row 2 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout),

dc in each st across, turn.

Rows 3-30 As Row 2, working from the Chart.

Rows 31-180 As Row 2, repeating Rows 1-30

from the Chart 5 more times.

Rows 181-183 Using Rose Pink, ch1, dc in each

st across.

Rotate the Spotted Section to work into row

ends.

Row 184 Ch1, dc in each row end across.

[183 sts]

Fasten off and weave in ends.

TO MAKE UP

Place the Spotted and Striped Sections side by

side. Sew together using preferred method.
