Method 1 Multiply by 100

  • To multiply by 100, move the decimal
    point twoplaces to the right.

  • Write the percent symbol.
    0.007 0.007 0.7%

So 0.007 is equivalent to 0.7%.

Method 2 Rename as a Fraction

0.007 10007 100 0.7 0.7%

  • Divide by the denominator to write the
    equivalent decimal.

  • Write the decimal as a percent.

2001 ^1 ^200 0.005 0.0050.5%

Rename 0.85% as a decimal.

  • To divide by 100, move the decimal point
